5 Ways a Professional Residential Cleaning Company Provides an Experience

Not all cleaning is equal. Not all cleaning companies provide the same service that transforms residential cleaning services into a full cleaning customer experience.

It’s this experience that will allow you to enjoy a higher quality of living because you’re not thinking about what has or hasn’t been cleaned properly. Here is where we understand the difference between a professional residential cleaning company and a DIY approach that can often fall by the wayside when life becomes a bit too full.

But how, exactly, does a cleaning company ensure that cleaning is not simply cleaning, but an experience that raises your quality of life? Let’s explore five ways that a reputable cleaning company can elevate your home and your own comfort.

    1. Invest in their professional expertise:

We all understand the basics of how to scrub a toilet, move a mop, or dust those bunnies, but there is so much more to cleaning properly. This is why professional cleaning companies have highly trained and experienced professionals who understand the science of cleaning. Our knowledge recognizes the nuances of cleaning multiple surfaces, fabrics, and materials. This allows us to tackle challenging cleaning tasks without damaging your home by accidentally using a cleaning product on a surface it’s not meant to be used on. At Clean Club Calgary, we continually update our knowledge through courses, training, and certifications. A few of our current training and certifications can be found here.

    2. Provide a reliable and consistent team:

When you invest in cleaning through a residential cleaning company, rather than relying on a single independent contractor, you gain access to a team of dedicated professionals. This means that should your regularly scheduled cleaner be unable to make their appointment due to illness, we have properly trained individuals who can fill in at a moment’s notice. You do not have to worry about having to reschedule or about the quality of cleaning because each team member is trained the same way. This means that your home will be cleaned consistently, on schedule, and without hassle – each and every time. This is perfect for busy professionals and families whose schedules are often packed to the brim and rely on consistent service.

    3. Offer convenience that saves you time:

One of the greatest benefits of investing in a residential cleaning company is that you simply do not have to clean during your free time. No longer are you having to spend weekends or evenings scrubbing floors and cleaning bathrooms. Rather, you can relax and enjoy your leisure time in a clean home, not worrying about the dust layer on the television.

    4. Customize your cleaning plan:

No two homes and their cleaning preferences are alike. It’s part of what makes this job fun for us. This means that your professional cleaning company should work closely with you to create a customized cleaning plan that’s tailored to your preferences and needs. This also takes into account the frequency of your regular cleaning schedule, if you have your children doing certain chores so they learn the value of work, and what type of materials and surfaces are unique to your home (e.g., upholstered furniture, type of flooring, etc.).

    5. Use efficient and effective techniques:

Because of the ongoing training that professional residential cleaners go through, we are well-versed in the most efficient and effective cleaning techniques. We consider our toilet brushes, our cleaning cloths, and our soap and water to be our art tools in “painting” a clean home. A professional cleaner will know the right methods, approaches, and sequence that things should be cleaned to maximize our time while achieving optimal sparkle. There are no corners cut, no cobwebs missed, and you can be confident that your home has been thoroughly cared for in the right manner, saving you both time and energy.

    6. BONUS – complete calm, tranquillity, and peace of mind:

When you entrust your home to a reputable residential cleaning company, you can rest more easily. You know you can rely on their professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail to provide consistent and exceptional results. Plus, a truly professional cleaning company will be bonded and insured, ensuring financial protection in the event of any accidents or damages during the cleaning process. Beyond this, knowing you have a clean home adds to both your physical and mental health as well, leaving you in a healthier mind frame for the things that are most important to you, such as time with your family.

At the end of the day, working with a residential cleaning company is investing in your lifestyle. Like any investment, it should add value to your world, allowing you to enjoy the benefits whether that’s more time with your family, the ability to sleep in on weekends, or simply enjoying a space that you didn’t have to clean.

  • How to Dust Away the Shame of Hiring a Cleaning Service

How to Dust Away the Shame of Hiring a Cleaning Service

It’s time. You know it, your family knows it, even your family’s goldfish knows it. It’s time to hire a professional cleaning service to support you in living the quality of life you want and deserve. One that does not contain doing all the house chores during your “free time.”

Yet, you feel ashamed or guilty about hiring someone to clean your home. “It’s my home. I should be able to stay on top of cleaning it!” floats through your mind every time you think about hiring a cleaner.

Here’s the thing, life is too short to be completing chores on the weekend, to be feeling embarrassed to admit you need help/support, to do something that you truly have zero energy or mind space for. As our lives continue to become ever more “busy,” hiring a professional cleaning service is there to enhance your life so you can simply enjoy it.

    What is Shame?

Shame often feels that we are falling short of our own standards. That somehow, we are “less than.” As the Greek philosopher, Plutarch highlighted, shame is “one of the greatest shaking cracks that our soul can receive.”

In my opinion, shame has no place when it comes to hiring a cleaner. Simply put, you did not fail in life because you hired a cleaning service. You are not “less than.” In reality, you are someone who understands our human limitations because we have a finite amount of time in the day and you want to spend it doing things that light you up. If it’s not cleaning…then why are you doing it?

There are a few things to help reduce or even completely remove this feeling so you can happily work with your cleaner and create the home that you get to simply relax in. No shame needed.

    You Keep Your Pride

A good residential cleaner will listen to how you want your home cared for. You take pride in your home and have it organized based on what works for you. Cleaners are not there to disrupt this, but to add to your pride in your home. A professional cleaner listens to what you want done, along with how, and that’s what they do. With a little extra sparkle, of course.

You Have Only So Much Energy

One of the most googled phrases in 2021 was, “why do I feel so tired?” There are many reasons as to why you, yourself, are tired. Even if you have the physical capacity to clean, your mind may simply be exhausted and you just cannot motivate yourself to pick up that duster or push that vacuum. After all, Zoom fatigue is very real.

Hiring a cleaning company helps you get through these low energy phases so you can support your mind, body, and yes, your soul. You may be able to handle “everything,” but one day, you won’t. Admitting that you need a bit of support makes you human. It’s okay to admit this. Super humans just don’t exist. To help with conserving your precious energy, read about how to hire a cleaning company here.

     You’re Paying for a Service

Finally, remember you are not having someone come into your home and clean it for free. You are paying for a service – just like you do with your hairstylist, your car mechanic, even your carpet cleaner! Do you feel shame after paying them? I’m going out on a limb, but my guess is no. You feel relief, fresh, happy. It’s the same with a cleaning company. Plus – professional cleaners are properly trained on how to clean. It is a professional career, not a fallback.

Of course, knowing your cleaning budget, along with the type of cleaning service you want helps bring clarity to why and how to hire the cleaning company that’s right for you. Plus, if you want your kids to learn how to clean, you can always have them clean their rooms and bathroom. Clean Club Calgary has many clients who hire us, only to say, “please leave our kids’ rooms to them.” It’s their way of teaching responsibility to their children, while giving themselves time in their day to do the things that matter most, such as spending time with their family, cooking dinner, or even focusing on growing their own business (as we work with a number of business owners).

What’s key here is that if the cleaner does not meet your expectations, that’s a business conversation to have. You are paying for a service and deserve to have your service expectations met.

We’ve been taught that we have to complete all “must dos” in order to be a productive and contributing member of society. The truth is, all that we “must do” is know what our strengths and values are. Give yourself the gift of self kindness and time – YOUR TIME – to do the things that truly matter. Work with a cleaning company who cleans so you don’t have to. No shame needed.

  • How to Clean Away Fear and Lean Into Your Values During COVID-19

How to Clean Away Fear and Lean Into Your Values During COVID-19

COVID-19 has rocked my world no more or less than any other business or individual I know. We are all in a time where our hope and optimism are being challenged, where visions of growth are put on hold, and uncertainty makes us question what we hold most dear.

As I reflect on exactly what COVID-19 means for my family, Clean Club Calgary, our clients, and the small business community, my thoughts turn to our values and how we can help. How we, as a business, can be there for our team and customers beyond our residential and commercial cleaning services. Suddenly, COVID-19 became a way for me to further tap into my values. With this, COVID-19 became:

    • Compassion for ourselves and others

    • Offer to help

    • Visualize life after the pandemic

    • Incorporate fun every day

    • Drink wine

    • 1% fear

    • 99% love

    COMPASSION FOR OURSELVES AND OTHERS

Without having compassion for ourselves as we face difficult decisions and for those who are impacted by our decisions, COVID-19 will win. With compassion, it won’t. The one thing that we are all seeing is the beauty of human connection and compassion this pandemic is bringing out in people.

    Compassion for self and others

    Compassion for self and others

I myself had to lay off staff for a multitude of reasons in March and not one of them was a performance-based decision. However, it is still important that I connect with them. Once a week via Zoom, we connect and chat about how they’re doing okay with the EI process and their own mental health, understanding that this is (hopefully) temporary. We all understand the position we are now all in and share in our compassion for each other.

    OFFER TO HELP

Clean Club Calgary has been deemed an essential business and is continuing to serve Calgarians with professional cleaning and sanitation services. One way we have identified that we can further help a number of our elderly clients (beyond our specific Coronoavirus sanitation procedures) is by bringing key essential items to them when we come for their cleaning. This way, they do not have to worry about going out for groceries or other items. While we are not offering this for all our clients, we are constantly looking for ways to support those who may be at higher risk.

    We are here to help!

    VISUALIZE LIFE AFTER THE PANDEMIC

A number of colleagues of mine in the cleaning industry simply closed their doors once this pandemic hit. This breaks my heart as, in talking with them, it’s clear that it was primarily a fear-based decision (rightfully so). To keep my mind out of the fearful zone while staying realistic in my hope, I wrote myself a letter highlighting what I want my life to be after this pandemic. This includes what Clean Club Calgary will look like. With so much out of my control, this specific task helps me stay focused on what I can control; specifically, my thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Yes, some days are really hard; others, not so much, but I have people I need to be there for today, tomorrow, AND months down the road. By visualizing life after the pandemic, I’m able to stay in the optimistic zone as I take the very next steps to work with the day-to-day realities as they present themselves.

    Day dream a little!

    Day dream a little!

    INCORPORATE FUN EVERYDAY

This is key for remaining focused on hope.“Fun” doesn’t have to be huge. For me, fun is the conversations I have with my husband, or a loving touch and a warm smile. We also play card games every day. To keep things interesting, we have started a fun way of tracking who “wins.” This helps us remain lighthearted after days that are full of heartache.

I also think it’s key to bring fun into all business conversations these days. For instance, on zoom calls with my team, we all share in a gratitude moment. This is important as it allows us to remember that we are grateful to be together, serving our customers in a time of need.

Have fun and play some cards!

    DRINK WINE

Always – drink wine! But in all seriousness, this really means that you should keep consistent with the things you did before the pandemic that helped your mental state. For me, a glass of wine a day has always been a comfort and continues to be throughout this time. For others, this could be as simple as keeping up with your medication or going for a walk. Whatever your “drink wine” is, continue to do it with even more purpose and intention for self-care.

    Enjoy a glass of wine!

    1% FEAR

We are inundated with fear from the moment we wake up to the time we go to sleep. However, we cannot operate on fear for long before we crash and burn. Recognize that fear is a normal emotion to have right now, but it should not be all-consuming. Limit your news and social media, look for those voices who are being a light in the dark, and focus on filling your fear with love for your team and your customers.

    99% LOVE

Love, life, and business? Yes. More than anything, this pandemic has taught me the importance of operating with love, both in my personal life and in business. It’s important I take a moment and infuse all actions with compassion in connecting with other business owners, my team and customers. Even as we make hard decisions and have rough conversations, coming from a place of love and compassion will help us all get through COVID-19 a little less worse for wear.

At the end of the day, there’s not one person or business who will walk away unscathed by this pandemic. While there may not be much that we can control throughout COVID-19, we can control how we choose to act. It’s a matter of leaning into our values, showing compassion for everyone, and building community through safe distances and clean spaces.

How has COVID-19 made you look at your values and actions differently? Connect with me today – I would love to hear how you and your team are connecting through COVID-19.
